Subject: Engine Noises IP: Logged
Message: Hey all,
I have a new problem. This just started happening in the last couple of weeks. When I pull out from a stop, and let the clutch out, the engine has a really tinny sort of sound until it gets above about 1200 RPM, but sounds ok at idle (which to me means low RPM and load). After that, and in the higher RPM, it sounds ok (still a little different than it used to be, but a lot more normal). I have no idea what would have changed in the last couple of months to cause this, and I don't even know what it is. Think it could be the catcon?
I really want to get this fixed in the next couple of weeks. I am moving, and have about 800km in front of me, so if it is something serious, I don't want to put that kind of mileage on it.
Thanks .. J-Man

Message: Alright, I have a little bit more info. I noticed this morning when I started it up that there was a noticeable pulse in the exhaust. Not a normal pulse that you would expect, but highly noticeable. For instance, you could see the pulses in the exhaust because it was cool out this morning. It wasn’t nice and steady like from a good running engine.
Does that give any more ideas?
