Message: I have a 1997 Dakota truck with cab seating benind the front seats. Last year the drivers side front floormat was soaked after a rain. It still leaks, sometimes with 1/2" of water on the floormat. I need to wetvac after every rain. I had the windshield replaced, checked the drainage line from the sunroof, checked the seals around the doors. Can't find the source. I seems to come out somewhere on the base of the door hinge area. Any comments? I'm going to drill some holes in the floorboard soon. :-(

Message: Pull back the carpet and then use a garden hose and I bet a quarter of a million dollars you find the leak.

Message: Sit inside the truck and have someone use a garden hose starting at the bottom and work up. Work slowly as water sometimes needs to work its way.
Common sense AND a college degree will get you that quarter mill ;)

Message: I had the same problem in my '02. It turned out to be a leak from some AC water condensation discharge. The hose that allowed the water to empty was blocked and or busted and it leaked into the passenger side of my truck.
I only mention it because I too thought it only happened in the rain. I would only remember to pay attention in the rain. Then, I noticed it on a perfectly dry day. I was told its not all that uncommon to happen to these trucks.

| RE: Leaking Cab IP: Logged
Message: I've read forums stating that the leak was from the A/C system, which is always on the passenger side. Since mine is on the drivers side, I am pretty sure it is not the A/C. I've narrowed it down to a broken weld at the top of the cab body. It started immediately after the truck was up on a rack. This is what I am told by some others who had the same problem. Thanks for your input.
