Subject: spark plug? IP: Logged
Message: I own a 2000 3.9L V6 dakota. I was going to install new spark plugs. After reading the posts on this board it looks like most people like the autolite 3923. But when i when i check what autolite reccomends it is the 5224. just wondering why the difference? and if i do go with the 3923 should it be the AP3923 or just the 3923?
thanks for the help

Message: The 3923 is a colder than stock plug for modified engines - no benefit in a (mostly) stock motor.

Message: the 5224's are the same as the stock plugs except they are autolites brand. I have the AP3923's gapped at factory but put them in only cause i did the timing advance mod and had pinging with the factory plugs. the only other mods i have are exhaust, 180 thermo, K&N drop in, TPS adjust, and personally i like the factory plugs much better but like i said it pinged so i needed a cooler plug. If you have no mods stick to the champs or the 5224's if you want the autolites.
