i have a 96 Dakota 4x4 3.9 motor just replaced the oil pump and pick up tube and cleaned the pan ( it had a lot of sludge) put in new oil and filter and the oil pressure still drops at 2500 rpm after about 2 minutes i also put a new sending unit on any ideas on what might be wrong ??

check it with a mechanical gage just to make sure. how low does it go? how many miles? could be faulty relief valve in pump. but if high mileage, could be excessive bearing wear, (main or rod).
