Message: Would getting a functional ram air hood hurt my truck in the winter weather when it gets fairly cold out? I live in canada btw so it gets chilly in wintertime =] Anybody else from canada here??

Message: The colder the air is usualy better...due to the fact that colder air is more dense thus packing in more air into the engine and increasing power (hence the reason why turbos/superchargers are used to pack air into engine) or in Nitros Oxide the Nitrogen atoms cool down the oxygen producing more power...anyway hope this answers your question...btw i live in vancouver canada

Message: I have a cold-air intake on my truck and for the last two winters I have experienced a drop in fuel economy during the winter... couldn't comment on horsepower though (I live in Winnipeg where its really freezing and I have to deal with ice on major roads all winter, overnight low tonight... -21C or -5.8F)

Message: A friend and I were talking one day and we think that there has to be a certain point where you take a motor that is 150-200 degrees and hit that hot metal with air that can be in some conditions can be 150-200 degrees cooler. That's just a lot of stress on the metal itself. Just my half a cent. Any opinions would be appreciated.
