i'm in the process of replacing my ball joints (all of them) and get the driver's side off and realize that the bolts in the aftermarket ball joints are smaller than the holes in the frame. Can anyone shed some light into this problem? Any tips, or has anybody run into this themselves?

I just replaced my ball joints on my 1999 2wd & the bolts were the right size. Did you have the originals on or did you have other replace ments on there. I put on napa 260-1491 upers same as moogs and the bolts fit perfect

I had the same problem. I bought new bolts at the larger size and drilled out the new ball joints. Worked fine.

I am replacing all ball joints on my 1999 4wd Dakota (40,000 miles) . . . is there a recall?
This should not be happening since useage has been very light . . . not ever heavy towing, etc.
