Rerouted a 4" flex hose from my air box to the front left of my radiator....what a difference. Throttle response is quite a bit better...I haven't even put the K&N filter in yet. Has anyone had trouble with water in the airbox with this setup? I'm a little worried about the engine inhaling mist kicked up by other vehicles. Just curious.

guess what

I got a simular setup and have had it for about 3 years now, the airbox on my 97 has a small hole in the bottom of it, around 1/4 or maybe 5/16 diameter which is realy kind of small when comparing to the 4 inch intake, and have yet to have water problems either by splashing in a deep puddle or by driving hard in a driving rain. The longest trip in rain with this setup was a 4 hour run at speeds between 55 and 80 mph. I am not using a K&N but am using a paper filter.

my 1993 3.9 liter has a similar tube running to the same place and has the stock ring style filter, but at the end of the tube is a plate that blocks direct acces to the tube, so stuff has to go around this plate but it also blocks any ram affect so im going to cut it off and put a piece of wind screen over it to keep big stuff out.

are you guys running a ring style filter or a cone style?
