Subject: no a/c on 98 dakota IP: Logged
Message: i have a 98 dakota with a 3.9. the a/c does not blow cold air. i added a can of r-134a & i had some, but not much cold air for a day, then nothing. i added a shot of dye to check for a leak, but i see none. the compressor engages & seems to be ok. also, i don't see any water coming from the drain hose. if it is plugged would that cause the a/c to malfunction? should i add more dye, & again check for a leak? the instructions said count to 3 when adding the dye, which is what i did. i don't want to do anything to damage the system further. if u guys have any advice i'd appreciate it.

Message: try and find some gages and check the pressures.if it is still leaking try using an electronic detector. if the evaporator has a leak you won't see it with just the dye unless you pull it out from the dash.
