Subject: auto, going into passing gear ? IP: Logged
Message: Ok I'm haveing a little difficulty in the passing gear (droping to 2nd). the truck will shift to 2nd untill it hits about 3800 rpm then shift into 3rd, for a couple of seconds, then into 2nd till about 4800 rpm. It is not slipping but is grabing each gear just fine. Also, when accellerating from a stop or in general use come to think about it, it dosn't go above 3500 rpm, (except passing of course). I just resently installed the F&B v6 TB , and have tryed adjusting the kickdown cable both forwards, and back, but I can only seam to make it worse, or the truck will kick down to about 5300 rpm, and the trany will slip. I don't know. I did the Kickdown cable so that it was just on the TB with no slack in the line, and a little tighter, but didn't want to go too much farther in fear that it will come close to redlineing again. Other mods include:
Cold air intake (airad)
Full MSD ignition
Plugs
180 Tstat
Flowmaster
Superchips reprogramer (currently in towing option)
Tranny cooler (was doing this problem befor this thow)
I think that is it....
Is there something that I should clean or something else to adjust??
Thanks

Message: Pressure solinoid causes it to shift back and forth between 2nd and 3rd and slip in second
if u havent flushed the tranny for a long time it could be clogged filter's
there some other thing in the tranny that does it to but i cant remember what its called i think it was the overdrive solinoid but im sure im wrong
The best part about this problem is ... if ur under warrenty dodge doesnt seem to know what the problem is
on mine they still cant figure out why it goes into shift nirvana while accelerating up to 60 it will jump rapidly back and forth between 2nd and 3rd and sometimes slip in second
As u can see im not a pro but it does give u something to look up on this site
Btw did u try a different program from ur tuner? maybe the towing one isnt working very well with ur vehicle

Message: I've had the same problem since it was stock...gear hunting under heavy acceleration. I've had the truck 2 years and still haven't figured out the problem.

Message: realy?? wow I only have 18,000 miles of the truck. Damn, i wish that I would have realy gotten the stick, but the dealer threw in the auto with no extra cost.
Anyway, is there anything that I can do to fix the problem? I don't think that it was happening before I did all the mods, and I think that with the work that I did do, they won't cover the warranty.
thanks
