I was wondering if someone could help me out on this. I purchased a set of powerslot rotors about 5 months ago from ebay. I installed them and put on a set of raybestos ceramic brake pads. Everything was fine until I noticed popping noise when i turned. 4 and half months later I check them out and they are all cracked bigtime. I decide to purchase a pair of EBC greenstuff pads that are made for powerslot and drilled rotors. I installed them and wound up having trouble stopping Also the pads smelled like they were burning heavily. After that I replaced driver side and pasenger side calipers, put a new set of EBC pads and still it was burning and hard to stop. Finnally I decided to try the raybestos again. They stop fine except when I come to a heavy stop I can smell the pads burnning. The only thing I havent done is replaced the rotors. They look to be in ok shape but I dunno anymore. I have done three pad changes and have changed both calipers in this past week. Someone please give an opinion or two. Thanks

BTW I have a 2001 3.9 regular cab dakota

If you have changed three sets of pads in a week, you aren't giving them enough time to properly seat. That's why you can't stop very well. Give them a little more time, and they will grab better.

you didn't mention if you changed the rotors or not? with the cracks, that's the first thing to do. try just the slotted rotors. and like J-man said, it takes a little time for the new pads to seat.
