Message: I saw on your website you put a switch onto your brake light wire... just wondering if when you have the switch turned off while your lights are on at night if it shuts the entire tailight off or just prevents it from getting brighter when you hit the brakes? I am gonna put a switch in, but would like to know that before I cut into the wire. Thanks,
Josh

Message: It stops the brakes lights from coming on when you depress the brake pedal, it affects nothing else. Your taillights will operate normally. You are intercepting the power supply lead going to the pedal actuator switch.

Message: Because you are foolish, Mark. NHRA will blackflag you before you get to pole. Actually, great idea, man!

Message: My purposes are more for fun and games... I drive at night a lot with friends. We go to Steak n Shake almost every night and then sometimes we'll ditch each other by making a quick turn. I'd like to be able to have a switch where I could flip my lights off and stop without them seeing my brake lights go off. It could also be used in running from the cops. Another reason why I want to do it is if I see a cop radaring ahead, I can slow down without the cop knowing it (if I'm speeding a bit too fast). Obviously that wouldn't work if I was hauling ass down the road though and had to really nail the brakes since my front end dropping would be pretty obvious. Yeah, prolly not the most ethical reasons, but to each his own.
And Mark's Enemy... why would that get you black flagged? I mean...yeah, it's probably not street legal, but when you're racing, why would it be bad if they couldn't see your brake lights? Besides...the only thing hitting your brakes are gonna do (with the lights on or off) is slow you down in a race...not speed you up...or you talking for like bracket racing and stuff? I guess that's understandable...

Message: if i'm speeding a little bit, i just drop it out if OD (if i'm slightly speeding) or drop it into second :-) that won't work as well, once i get my flow 40 series =P

Message: Hey GB since you want to ditch people like you said, you could
also set up a switch to kill all external driving lights except head
lights. I've seen this done before, but not on our truck
specifically.

Message: Yeah Dan,
You'll hear the engine revved way up when you do that with the 40...lol. You'd prolly get pulled over for having too loud of a muffler instead of speeding. =P Which actually...that's prolly a lot better than a speeding ticket.
Another mark,
that's not a bad idea...I'm not exactly an electrician so I'm not sure how easy I'd be able to do it, but it'd be a cool idea.
