Subject: Grinding noise, need help IP: Logged
Message: My tranny (I think) has been making grinding noises in first and second gear after I drive off on a cold start. The noise is awful. Do I need to replace my clutch?
It has 69,000 miles and everything is bone stock.

Message: It might possibly be the clutch, I slowed down from going around 70, and as soon as I got to the stop sign I pushed it all the way down and the truck started stumbling.

Message: FIrst check and make sure your clutch is releasing all the way. Just fire it up, try to put it in first, if it goes into first ease out the clutch and make sure it grabs then release it seeing if the truck is still trying to take off, if its not, then you have a bad syncronizer in the trans.
