i've got a friend that wants to race his stock 2004 lancer 2.0 I4 against my stock '93 3.9 dakota CC 4x4. i know i'm going to get smoked, but is there anything at all i can do to get an edge?

the regular plain jane lancer is slow as crap...
i got a buddy with one of those "OZ rally" Lancers and it cannot get out of it's own way...
I would seriously be more worried about the dodge lancer of the early 90's (mid, whatever they were)

Depends which Lancer version you are racing. I barely lose like by a hood to the OZ Rally edition. All I had at the time was a cheap civic intake and flowmaster 40 series muffler. (Not a cat-back system) a lot depends on traction on launch, but I have a RC instead of your CC. Just find out where you stand. You win some and you lose some.

Lancer! ha! my freind has one of those slow cars!! he has a 2003 Lancer OZ Rally, that thing is nothing special, hell i beat him all the time in my 3.9 5spd Dak, stock. I havent got to race him with my exhaust or intake, well he moved, so i cant really race him anymore.....later

i think the Lancer is like Mitsubishis(sp?) Neon they both have the same engines in them i beleive....and some other stuff to....later again....

Dammmmn, Mark. You think this guy is ready to drop $5000 to win a streetrace with a lancer? I guess you drop in turbos every day. I was wonderin if you always recommend NitrousOxide when you have a turbocharger?? Unreal.
