Subject: my 47mm TB is here quick question. IP: Logged
Message: The Linkage is different.. I think its a V8 style the TB is stapmed V6. The T-cable looks like it runs under and up a v-grove and has a hole to put a stud or ball in. What kind of a cable do I need to get and will my stock bracket work ?

Message: What kind of tb are you running??? The tb sounds like it is unniversal in it's setup... The hole like you said is for what ever throttle linkage you may have... You can either run the ball or the "nail head" joint depending on what year V6 you have, because unless I'm mistaken here, they did put the "nail head" on some of the V6ers... The groove is for the cable to run through underneath and I guess alows the cable to have a more precise movement??? All of your stock brackets and any sensor that may not have been included should fit precisely as it did on the old throttle body ; )) I think Holley makes the different bolt up joints or maybe if your real lucky you will find some at your local auto parts store...

Message: it's a SickThrottle Body. I got it off Ebay. Its stapmed 99 and I have a 98. its casting is identical to a spare V6 that I have, but the the odd linkage type. I was thinking that my ball socket cable would fit, but I am not sure. Just want to make sure I have everything before I start with the swapout. I have fould web site at one point a site that had diagrams of the 3 different types on linkages. Sure wish I could find it again.

Message: I had that problem when I went to the V8 TB. I fixed it by welding on a nipple (an old machine screw) in the spot that the V6 nipple would have been. I also removed the plastic v-groove guide as I found it would get hung up on it.
With that done, this thing is works like it was always there!

Message: Well I was going to wait for the weekend to do my swapout. But I cant stand to wait, after the kids go to bed I am backing the Wifes Caraven out of my Garage(oops the Garage) and pulling my Dak in. Then I will start working. Wish me luck... and no bloddy Knuckles, I still have some scratches from my T-stat mod last weekend.

Message: Well ... It gets very hot here so I let her park in the Garage when I am not working on the Truck.
Well I finished up ... That Linkage must be a for a V8 cause no way mine was fitting it that hole. So I swaped out the whole shaft from my TB and put it on the SICK. Problem solved but more work then I was ready for. Any way, Truck is running strong, I also popped in a new IAC mine was DIRTY. The whole TB was really dirty drity. I got a good look insid my manifold and no oily mess just some glazing.
Dak seems to have more punch it pushes you back into your seat. Gotta let the PCM relean, I will give it a good shake down on the way to work.
