Message: Does it hurt anything to leave the metal shields that surround the spark plug and plug boot off? I was seeing how hard it was gonna be to change my plugs and I pulled one out and cant get it to fit back in.

Message: Chris,
Had the same issue when I changed mine a little over a year ago. This is gonna sound bad to anyone who's a true mechanic but if you have a large pair of pliers, squeeze the metal surround down at the bottom about the first inch, like your trying to crimp it. It's a Trial and Error fix but if you "crimp" it together to where the edges of the metal are squeezing together at the seperation that runs the length of it you oughta be all good. Just go easy and do a little at a time and not one big shot to crimp it, keep doing that until it slides in around the plug, just try it after each "crimping". Just a note, your probably gonna have to pull the boot off the plug to get it over.

Message: do a search - i posted a thread about bending a piece of coat hanger wire into a spark plug boot removal tool.
Makes changing plugs easy without ripping the boot off the wire

Message: Well me and my friend just changed the plugs this evening. Those things were b*tches to break loose. (First time they've been changed.) Broke the insulator completely off of one but all the new ones are in now so it's all good.
