Message: Don back to your tb question, unless you have port matching done to you intake manifold, you need to stay down to a 48mm tb... This is because the intake only has two 48mm bores and anything over that will tend to cause turbulance's and reduce the low end quite a bit... Most will either shave the air horns, remove the torque step, and port and polish their tb's or they will buy a V8 tb which has two 50mm bores, but the torque step takes it down to two 48mm bores... Most just go with the V8 tb to save having to do the work to their own tb...
Your lowering question, you really need to go over to the Slammed Dakota's board, but most around here will either take out one of the leafs, heat it with a torch "not recommeded", or buy a leaf spring kit to lower the rear down some... I've even heard of a few kits out there for the bigger trucks that just replaces the bracket that the leafs attach to, to lower it... That way they can still have their stock load hauling capabilities...
If you had the money for it, I would personally go with a good air ride system... Great ride + can ride at what ever height you want to ride at...
