the "STOCK" 5.7L i raced last night was not so much stock, and here is why....
tonight i raced the same year chevy 1500 regular cab auto with a 5.7L.....gather round children and here the story of the beat down of chevy!!!!!
on a dead stop!! the light turned green we both lost girp..after finally griping i shifted to second at that time i was pulling on him hard, and by the time i hit 60MPH i was "A TRUCK LENGET ON HIM"
ohh and to u FORD guys, i alos raced a regular cab F150 about a 98 or 99 model, with a 4.2L 5 speed, on a 30 punch i was in 3rd gear (i knew i was going to win) he was in 2nd it was close until about 35MPH.......now tell me that that is not freaking power hmmmmmmm!!!!
and for the legondary 4.3L S10 and 1500 chevy trucks i also raced them tonight....the 1500 just got plane raped like a grape ape, but the S10 EC "xtreme" (POS) was a little better of a race, off the line i held dead even when i power shifted in to 2nd that is when i started to see him fall back in to his place :) (never fear the 3.7 is here)
i would have to say that the closest race to night was with a 99 2.(whatever) eclips 5 speen non-turbo, off the line just flat out raped, on a 30 pucnh it was close until 60mph (or 3rd gear for me)
yes.....and for the stock 5.7L EC i raced last night, i saw him on the Vally (our local drag strip) I stoped him and talked to him....................stock my ASS
he has a TBS, cold air intake, true dulls, and headers for his tuck................so i hope that put this BS conversation to rest.
i finall know how to drive my 3.7L V6, and it is freakin powerfull
ohh on a nother note i am glad that i didnt get the Ram 1500 3.7L raced one of those, yep the are slower that i had hoped...sorry to say :(

your thinking of the 5.3L, cus a 3.9L dose the same thing"Mikes94Dakota" does it all the time to a 5.7L Chevy. And if u did know your mopar stuff, u would also know that the 3.7L is quicker than the 3.9L because it is a overhead cam engine.
So pls do not hate on me cuse your truck is slower than mine :P

headers will make the 5.7L "come to life" that small block is not the best when it comes to "breathing" the factory exaust systems is about as free flowing as a fat man in a speed-o

so your pride rides on a few street races? seriously, none of the vehicles you listed above are big bad speed demon street machines anyway.
if you're trying to prove yourself that bad, take it to the strip. i'd like to see your "pride" after some real racers with real rides show you how its done, and have time slips to prove it.

get these races on vid. i find it hard to belive that ya beat the 1500, but if ya did good for u. i had a 92 seirra w/a 305 5 speed and a few mods. back when my seirra was stock it would b neck and neck with cc 318 5 speed daks. and depending on the injection of the 1500 headers and exhaust and a cai dont do as much as u would think. as for the dont hate u cuz your trucks faster. i would give ya the break and a 2 car jump on me. and still put ya in the rear view with the none over head cam 3.9 :)

no no, you're missing my point man. i never said i didn't want him having fun. what i'm trying to figure out is why he's putting so much on the line for a few lousy street races against some random vehicles like that.
apples to apples? ok, lets do that, since i haven't heard anyone say anything yet about how insanely illegal street racing is anymore. and we all know why that is, because some kid thought he had to prove himself and his ride by running wide open on a public road and then either smashed into something or somebody else, killing himself/passengers/bystanders, blah blah we've all heard it.
trust me i'm all for having fun. hell, i sink time, money and a good list of injuries into motocross racing for fun. but when it comes down to it, trying to outdo somebody on a closed course track isn't going to get me arrested, or killed, or have me killing an innoccent bystander. (well, not saying that can't happen, but i'm saying its a motocross track, not a 2 lane highway. again, apples to apples) that's why i suggessted a dragstrip.
also, i can't understand why he's beating up a brand new truck to try and prove himself against an old pos chevy, or ford, or import, or whatever. not gonna have anything to show for it once the truck is shot.
i just figure there's better ways to test your pride than racing on the street. but i guess since i dont wanna see him get arrested, or wrecked, or killed, or kill somebody, that makes me a "fukin jackas."

Yah...I agree he is beating up his truck a lil...but yes he is having fun and pcking on people in his class of street races. BUT...yes anything is possible death, injury, and etc...But his pride is not only in a truck but Mopar! : )
If he had at least 10k miles on the Odemeter, then yah I guess he can beat his truck up a little. It may hurt it might not!
I have had a 94 3.9 auto dak with 140k to start with and I have been beating on it since day 1.
I dunno how tough a 3.7 is..but god a 3.9 is a sure winner when it comes to endurance..GEEZ!
Leave the guy alone....let him make his choices and yes he will take some of these to the track....as long as he has money! : )
