Subject: Resistor Block IP: Logged
Message: My blower motor finally stopped blowing and I'm swapping out the resistor block tonight. If anyone has had previous experience with this and knows of anything I should be aware of (except disconnecting the battery) can you post here and let me know?
Thanks.

Message: Just check the connector for any corrosion/rust!
possibly some " Vaseline " - petroleum jelly
or something similar would be good to coat
the connector ?
Should not need to disconnect battery
but , if you want to be extra safe = go ahead.

Message: When working around ANYTHING electrical I disconnect the battery now. Funny story...my dad had his alternator go bad on his F-150. I thought about disconnecting the battery but dismissed the idea figuring we wouldn't have any issues. While we were preparing to install the new alternator, one of the harness contacts grounded out on the FEAD bracket and sparked about 4 inches from my face. Needless to say when you aren't expecting something like that to happen and it flashes you get a little excited. The flash startled me and I jumped up and smacked my head on the alternator as my dad was just swinging it around from the new box to the engine compartment. Six stitches later and a pretty good size headache we were done.
The kicker is...I should know better as I'm a P/T engineer. Hard lesson for an easy fix.
Thanks!!
