Subject: quick question IP: Logged
Message: OK, so I have the 3.9l and from what I can gather, it comes with about 175 HP (and I think around 200 lbs torque) stock (good ol Magnum and not that weenie Higgins). Well, with the cold air mod (high flow air filter), high flow exhaust (I got the Ravin 77) and a V8 throttle body (with the vernier it measures 51 mm, so I am thinking its the 52?), plus the 5 speed manual, what sort of HP/torque do you think I am getting. I dont know of a dyno near by, but I am curious non-the-less.
Also, compare that with the stock 5.2l in its hp/torque. Please talk amonst yourselves - no big whoop.

Message: All the V8 bodies are 50mm plates with a 48mm
torque step
Average gain 15 to 18
so with your cold air low restriction exhaust and
TB 190 to 200 hp with around 35 foot pound torque
gain
The stock motor is rated at 230 torque so around
260 265
This would be a close guess

Message: very pleased to hear that. So around 190 with around 260 ft/lbs. Not shabby at all. If you compare that with a stock 5.2l (no mods) how does that stack up?
thanks for your info, this is exactly what I was looking for
