Message: Ok thanks. I guess I will have to go to the dealer to find out what trans and rear I have, but does anyone know which of each were most commonly used in 2001? The rear gear is 3.55 I believe.

Message: You should have the NV1500 since you have a v6. And if your 2wd, you should have the 8 1/4 rear end (check the label in your glove box, it should say something like (8.2" anti spin, corporate rear axle) that would indicate you have the 8 ¼ rear… also, I believe the 8 ¼ has 10 bolts..
Hope I helped

Message: Turns out it's the corp. rear, but in the owners manual it said that the NV1500 trans was only used in the 4cyl. and the NV3500 was used in the 3.9 and the 4.7. It never occured to me until last night to read that stupid thing, lol.
Hey, also, I called Mr. Mopar yesterday to ask about sealing the rear diff- they say that you have to use MOPAR silly-cone, whichs costs $16 a tube! Upon further investigation I learned that it is the same black RTV that costs $3-$4 at the parts store.
