Message: i heard that to gut out a cat you can on bolt the back of the cat and stick a pipe in it and bang on it with a hammer to break up all the stuff in side then turn ur truck on and rev it up and it will blow all the insides of the cat out is this true? and if i do this will the o2 sensors go off on my 98 dakota w/ 50series flowmaster and i live in oklahoma so they never do any kind of testing

Message: Don't bother...
Newer cat's , and yours should be , are NOT
built like that anymore..
Latest versions only have rows of "plates "
lined up front to rear .
No more [ blocking screens ]..

Message: if they don't do testing why are you worried about your o2 sensors setting a check engine light? it won't prevent the engine from starting

Message: the o2 sensor does not just set off a check engine light, it tells the comp to adjust the fuel curve and if you destroy of take off your cat, it will mess all this up. if you want to, just get a o2 simulator so it tells the comp it is fine and does not change everything.
i dont know where you live, but ive heard that here in michigan we will be starting up the emissions tests again in about 2 years.
