so I am at Advance Auto Parts today and they told me that the 2wd Dakotas in 91 came with 9 and 10 inch rear brakes, I did not know this. could someone please tell me a little bit more about this?

Check for an equipment ID tag under your hood or in glove box.
94 shop manual states 10" brakes were used on models with heavy duty options.....
or pull a wheel & check the drum.....
