Subject: Underdrive Pullies IP: Logged
Message: Hey I was wondering if any of you have underdrive pullies and if so what did they do to gas mileage and performance? I have a 95 3.9, no mods yet. Any replies would be helpful.

Message: I have the full set of ASP pullies and they help.
There is less drag on the engine so there is less waisted hp going to the accessories which allows more hp for going fast. And while cruising, there will be less hp needed to go the same speed so better mpg.

IMO, I have the underdrive pulley and it was a waste of money but hey, atleast I know its there. Would've probably made a bigger difference on a V8.
Here's a pic of the install:

No difference, runs just as good as with the stock pulley.

Message: wrong mod imho
you aren't going to feel it when you drive, you aren't going to start winning at street races because of them either, so why bother?
get a supercharger or nos

Message: for a daily driver go for it just dont get the alternator pulley i did and couldnt get the pulley off the alternator using my impact wrench
u will see close to a 1 mpg gain but as for feeling power well its not very noticable except ur engine will respond quicker when u stomp on it
As for AC and how it works mine works just the same, a plus side i did notice my ac doesnt pull my acceleration down as much in stop and go driving or on the highway
u can make ur AC more efficient by insulating the cooling lines so they get less heat saturation from the hot engine... good mod for people like me who never have enough cold air :)
