Well I took my truck to our local 1/8 mile track. I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota 3.9L V6, 5spd, with a Flowmaster 40 series muffler, Edelbrock open air cleaner, 180 degree thermostat, and Autolite 3923 spark plugs. My first run I pulled off a 12.751@57.46. I ended up running about 5 more times, getting times around that, a little better and my worse being 13.074@57.17. On my last run, I hit my best time of the night at 12.311@58.74, with also my best reaction time of .757. So overall I'm pretty happy with my times. I just got my electric fan today as well, so maybe that will knock my times down some.

yoman, not necessarily. That engine is pretty much stock with small mods. Considering it's running 12.3 in the 1/8th, that's pretty much on target. I just went to the track and ran a 15.3 in the quarter at 90 mph and I have around 250 off the engine of my 3.9L and run around 10.6 in the 1/8th so a 12.311 in the 1/8th is right on where it should be for his truck.

His truck, with a decent driver will go atleast mid 16's in the 1/4... thats alot faster than a 12sec 1/8th

This was my first time ever racing at a drag strip as well. I feel like if I work on my launch and shifting, that I might be able to break 11's. It had rained last night too and was mildly cool, so everyone was probaly running a few tenths of a second slow anyways.

And my truck is a rc. I don't know, it does seem kind of slow. My friend has a 91 Camaro RS, with a 305 V8 with just a Flowmaster muffler and Hooker headers, and he was pulling 10s, and a 10.665@67.05 when we raced each other. I think my launch is setting me back a few tenths of a second because my best 60 ft time was only a 2.660. I have some room for improvement.

I also live near a 1/8 mile track (Ottawa Ottodrome) and had it out there for a few runs, I did 6 runs with an average 11.6s a best of 11.397@61.58mph, on my best run i had a 60ft 2.522s with a reaction time of .887
My truck is a 2001 Rc 3.9L 5spd, 3.55lsd diff. slim mods of only 180deg t-stat, 50series flowmaster and a fiberglass tonneau cover.
I'm starting some mods now and I'm looking forward to any improvments.

Yeah GreyDAK it used to be the Capital city speedway on Highway7, Its 20$ to race all night friday and sat night every weekend, If you just wanna watch its free admission.
Its not a bad set up, your first run is solo so you can get a feel for it, then your alowed to race against anyone willing, after your run you go back the main gate and get your time card.
