Hey all. I just got my new '04 quad cab 4x4 3.7l 3 months ago after I traded in my '99 club cab 4x4 5.2l and the tranny ripped apart on my after 6k. I've been waiting for 2 weeks now for my new transmission to come in from dodge. (Its a 5-speed stick) Hopefully Ill have better luck with the new tranny, just thought i'd share my situation and answer any questions if anyone has any.

I have an 04 3.7 5spd with 3500 miles. Its an NV3500 trans. Was it abused or did it lose a gear or what????

No I was very light with the truck, it did get 6k in 2 1/2 months but mostly highway miles. Basically what happened wasa very loud grinding noise developed in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and the tranny was real jerky. The dealer thought it was the clutch pressure plate or the throw out bearing. WHen they go titno it a lot more was damaged than suspected. New ttranny on now though and it runs better than ever!!

probably just a defect from factory although my friend has gone through 3 trannys in 20,000 miles. That's what he gets for getting a gas saver escort.
