 Subject: Tire Size?

Okay, I'm in search for new tires next month. Plz, spare me with all that speedo going to be off, etc. My question is pretty simple. My truck is an 00 RC V6 with the Sport Package. Now when I brought my truck (Used) from DC it came with 235 tire, but the sticker on the door says 215. So which tire is the correct size so my guages and mileage will be accurate? Thanx

215/75-15=27.7 Diameter
235/70-15=28 Diameter.
.I went from 235/70-15 to 30x9.50-15
My speedo was off about 8 mph..but my gear ratio went from 3.55 to 3.31..
Just installed 4.10 gears so Effective ratio is now 3.82..

stock tire size is 215/75/15(27.7 in. dia.). optional stock tire size 235/75/15(28.9in. dia.). 4.2% difference speedo will read 60 when actual speed is 62. no big deal. i had 215's on my '00 QC and went to 235's. the size diff isn't enough to worry about. IMO stay with the 235's.

I think that they could have adjusted the computer already for the 235's even if it originally had 215's. I guess the only was to know if its been adjusted is to take a drive down a highway that has those 1/10 mile markers, or take a drive in another car for a certain distance and compare with the dak. 5 miles at a 4.2% difference would be about 2/10 of a mile difference.

Thanx, for your input, i was just trying to figure out which tire size was the computer tuned to. 215 is stock so is 235, they probably did tune the computer to 235, dunno if thats due to the sport package or what, but thanx.

the tires that cam on my 2000 came with 255/65/15 it had the sport package and with the 2002 it cam with 255/65/16 so you can go with this size.
