Message: Josh,
Just checked out your CarDomain site... you did a real nice job with it. I could tell from your posts here a dd.com that you've really been working on that truck. Looks good!

BTW I was out in Ohio (from NJ) a couple of weekends ago, just north of Cincinati. Lots of cicadas out there. They make it up to Piqua?

Message: Here's the site I used to do the intake...it tells you everything you need to do, what you need, etc. If you use the Edelbrock intake (p/n 1208) it has the breather nipple to hook the breather hose to on the underside of it. Some say you have to cut it down a little to make it fit, but I found that if I just moved it to the front of the intake, it'd just fit without having to possibly cut it too short.

I'll get back to you about the middle seat...my friend is here so I'm not gonna sit here and make him wait for me to type it all up. To sum it up, yes you can do it...all you'll need is a couple sockets and a drill with some good bits to drill out a few rivets.

Message: Well in my case...I never used the storage space. I removed my cupholder a long time ago to clean the pop spilled all over them from the previous owner and kept forgetting to put it back in, and I hated hauling 2 passengers in my truck, but nobody would take no for an answer. They'd put me on the spot and stuff. I tried the whole hiding the middle seatbelt thing but they were like, "Who cares? We won't get caught with no seatbelts." At the time I'd already had two speeding tickets and if I got one more violation while driving...whether it be not signaling a turn, a parking ticket, no seatbelts, etc...I'd automatically lose my license for a minimum of 1 year without any restricted driving privileges til my 18th birthday. I finally decided the easiest way to prevent hauling more than one passenger is quite simple... remove the middle seat. I couldn't be put on the spot that way either. Plus I kinda like the idea of either making a custom console or having a custom sub box (NOT for rap!) put in that space.

Message: Okay greendak...time for some info...
To remove the middle seat it's a fairly simple process... I can't remember exactly how it goes, but I can give you enough info to figure it all out for yourself without making yourself truckless...or at least temporarily seatless:)
Start out by removing the bolts on the front of your seats...just use a socket wrench (can't recall the size) and crank em on out. Next...slide the seats forward and lean them forward. Remove the bolts in the rear of the seats. I don't recall if there are any holding the middle seat down...actually I'm quite sure there are...(cuz they are the inside corners of the two bucket seats)...where the seatbelt attaches to the floor. Remove those as well. There may be a couple harder to reach ones in the front section of the middle seat that you need to remove (removal of the cupholder will make them possible to reach...there's a button in the top center of it that you push down to release it). Basically...remove all three seats from the truck together. Then unbolt the center console from them. If you don't want the brackets hanging out (I definitely didn't) from the seats, take a drill and drill out the rivets holding the brackets in place. There's either 2 or 4 sets of one small rivet and one very large rivet that will need drilled out...I'm thinking two in the back. If you ever want to reinstall the middle seat, just use nuts and bolts where the rivets were. Once you've got it removed, just set your seats back in and reinstall the bolts. Oh yeah...be sure to unplug the wire connector under your seat before you pull it out. It doesn't take any special tricks to disconnect it...just pull it apart. Don't forget to reconnect it when you put the seat back in either. One other thing... wear safety glasses when you drill out the rivets. I busted a drill bit going through the large rivet and shot metal shards all over me. Some blasted me in the face and it didn't feel very swell.
Hope this helps...if you get stuck, let me know. There's a few others who have done this as well so if I'm unsure on what you mean, they can explain it to ya.

Message: Depends on how good you are with a drill...lol.
If you do it right and quick enough, it'd only take you prolly 15 minutes for the drilling. The most time-consuming part is removing the bolts which you'll have to do again, but since you've done it once before (and you have a few less bolts) that should go a lot quicker.

Message: Know where I could find one of em for a decent price? I'm hoping to get me a fairly cheap dual scoop hood in primer and I got a buddy who does bodywork and painting and he said he'd paint it for me for pretty much the cost of supplies if he can get a place to paint it. Hopefully another friend's grandpa who owns an auto shop would let us use his paint booth after hours.
I need to repaint my bumper sometime soon too...stupid thing has a big rust spot on it. I figure with that one I'll just sand it off real good, prime it and spraypaint the damn thing a nice flat black...lol.

Message: For the hood scoop, I really don't know where you could get it cheap. I myself have been looking around for a hood, but they tend to be very expensive. i've thought about just buying a scoop and cutting out a hole in my hood to the fit. You could buy the scoops for about $100-$200. Than again, you could save up another couple hundred and buy the hood if you find a good deal. Keep a look out in the paper or e-bay. There may be a local selling a hood that you could just go and pick up and not worry about shippping charges (which would be very expensive).
When I purchased my Dak, the bumber was very ugly, full of rust spots. I went to the auto store, purchased some Rustoleum primer and Gloss Black. Sanded, primed and finished with 2 coats each and now the bumber looks like new. It takes a little time, but well worth it.
Hope I helped.

Message: I was using my dad's(may he rest in peace) 18 volt drill but the thing just wouldn't do it. It made a little dip in one of the rivets and I just decided to give in to it. At least for now. I also do not like the ugly ass brackets sticking out from under the two seats.

peeps,
I'm pretty sure when I get a hood, I'm gonna see about ordering one from Cervinis (http://www.cervinis.com). They have good pricing. I think $439 for the hood and then it's like $85 for freight collect shipping.
Question for anyone...which hood do ya'll like better?
Dual scoop hood - https://www.cervinis.com/shop/closeup.asp?part=138
Single scoop hood - https://www.cervinis.com/shop/closeup.asp?part=137
