Message: I'd call up JBA to find out if that was acceptable quality. You should really check to see if the flanges are straight. I had no quality issues with my headers. On the issue of painting, Why? You'll probably need to sand the finish for the paint to adhere.

Message: I'd send 'em back! I've never heard of any quality issues with JBA. My stainless shorties were used, and still nearly perfect.

Message: Dude, dont put up with that!!
You paid good money for headers that someone else didnt want, at least call JBA tell them and see what they can do for you. Me personally I would want a discount if I was going to keep em.
Good luck.

Message: I like mine. Of course, they aren't chromed, they are stainless steel. They fit great, the flanges were fine, the finish is good.

Message: I got my chrome JBA headers less than a year ago happy with the way they fit up but they are starting to rust in places all ready.
