Subject: Fan Coming on too soon!!! IP: Logged
Message: Well ever since I have replaced my fan clutch the fan comes on at every start up no matter how long it has sat there...I have a 180 T/S on there and was wondering why the fan comes on in the cold morning or a fresh start up....Any ideas on how to make the fan come on later or is this normal...cause i didnt notice this before.

Message: Fan is always on, but when cold, doesn't spin as fast as the rest of the engine.
You definately can't "turn it off"

Message: Was the clutch fan off and stored for awhile? According to the FSM if you store it, do it straight up. Has something to do with the silicone material encassed inside.

Message: My truck always spins the fan at top speed on a cold startup - it's noisy. Then as I drive off, as soon as it hits 2nd gear the clutch lets go and it spins slowly as it should.

Message: get a electric fan off ebay, they flow just as well as flex light, and are much cheaper just make sure u get a 16 inch. take off ur clutch fan and then u kill 2 birds with 1 stone, get alittle more power and u control when u want the fan on

Message: I would like to know if I really need the fan or not, I read somewhere that if you take it off it won't change much.
true or not. I don't have enough money for a electric fan, and the noise when I begin is pissing me off.

Message: Depends on driving conditions and the climate you live in...some places you'd be fine, but in other places you may overheat without one.
