Subject: The difference between 94 and 98 dakotas IP: Logged
Message: My friend and I are very proud dakota owners but everytime We race one of us is always losing and that same person doesnt understand why? And neither do I?
I have a 94 ext. cab dakota 3.9 with the following mods
gutted cat
180 t/s
single in/ dual out 40 series flows
v8 TB
My friend has a 98 ext cab. dakota 3.9 with the same mods.
We race off the line and by the time I hit 60 I am about 1-1.5 truck lengths in front
If we do a 30 punch I am about a half a truck length on him to 60
We have both had our trucks scanned to see if they were functioning properly and both were running better than ever.....so I have heard that Dodge decreased the timing a little on the newer trucks...can anyone tell me if this is true cause I would like to know how come i keep walking on him off the line?
thanx in advance!

Message: Your friends truck weighs 4200 pounds with a full tank of gas, no driver and nothing in the bed, not even a spare tire. I had my 99 weighed it's got the same options.

Message: You got the timing info right.
krcperformance.com has info and how to FIX..
weight is too close to be that much of a
factor every time..

Message: I guess we will just have to go to the scrapyard and have our trucks weighed with both full tanks of gas. He is determined to beat me. He is also buying a F&B TB and getting a hypertech programmer....with this he says he should be able to walk me off any roll....what you guyz think?

Message: If you are referring to the weight of 4,020 that is NOT the title
weight. I went to a professional scale and had my truck
weighed.
