Message: Yeah, I was looking at the super 40 too. Does anyone know if there is any difference between that and the normal 40? If there is, which sounds better?
P.S. I live in Michigan and I was wondering if they break any laws for noise. I can't really afford any tickets after I get one.

Message: I just installed one on my Dak and love it, allthough in the beginning it was a bit loud, but after about 1000 miles it sounds great. It is still loud in the cab, but I enjoy it, it has a nice deep sound. Also, mine is probably louder than most as I only have a turn down dip directly off the muffler exit pipe.

Message: hey i just recently posted my responce on another post, and i have had both the normal 40 series and i didnt really like the tone at higher rpm.. sounded ricy ( but i know i wont be getting any V-8 rumble out a 6.. it just didnt sound right)... so then i got a super 40 series for a steal, yet i didnt think the difference would be too great, but i did it and its deeper toned and sounds great.. id get the super over the normal anytime

Message: Please help and be patient, as I am new to Dodge and this board.
Problem: 87 Dakota 3.9L Auto won't idle once it warms up. It runs like a scared rabbit if you ever get it rolling.Things I've tried:
Fuel filter
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor button
Fuel pump - helped for a few days
Plugged EGR (vacuum and manifold port)
No vacuum leaks that I can find
Disconnected O2 solenoid
Unplugged wire on little air diverter thingy to the left of the carb
Timing good (by ear/starts on first spin)
Working on this thing is almost like hanging pictures in the dark...I am befuzzled! In the AM I plan to gut the cat in case it is a backpressure issue. The smog pump is currently still connected.
What am I missing? The book says that timing is controlled by the SCC. Could this be the problem? If so, would a distributor from a 318, w/ the 6 cyl rotor, be an acceptable work-around for the SCC (eliminating the SCC altogether)?
I have always worked on my own stuff but am perplexed as to the solution to this one. If all else fails I will transplant a 318 but there should be a simpler solution.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Bill
