As for your brakes, make sure that your parking brake pedal is up all the way. (Pull the release, and lift the pedal at the same time.) If that makes your brake light go out, then your parking brake cable is most likely stuck.
The cable gets rusted and then it rusts to the inside of the sheath, and then it is stuck. There is one cable inside a sheath that goes through the floorboard under the driver's feet. Where it splits into two cables, you can disconnect it and see if the cable under the driver's feet moves freely.
If it does, then you'll need to check each of the rear cables. Same thing. Just check to see if it moves freely. Have one person watch the cable as you apply and release the parking brake. If the cables are frozen, you can get repalcements (for the rear) at Autozone.
I'm surprised that you'd have an ABS light in a 1990. I thought that 1993 was the first year for ABS. My 93 has rear ABS. I was able to cause my light to come on with I replaced a brake line and didn't purge the system fully. Once I opened the valve and bled the brakes, the light went off.
Do you have enough fluid in the resevoir?
