My Dak seems faster and more responsive when I take the overdrive off. Whatever works I guess. Give it a try.

The stock programming likes overdrive WAY too much. I've never seen such a short shifted tranny program.
Your dealer can fix it.

i cant really remember how my dak felt 8 months out of it..but i dont think u are right about it...from what i can remember it was a normal feeling 4 speed auto.

ok I am a chevy guy but thinking of buying a dakota for second truck already had ford just want to try all of them
There are 5 4.3 motors
TBI Z vin 155-165hp 225tq 88-95
CPI H.O W vin 195-200hp 265tq 92-95
SFI W vin 190hp 250tq 96-99
SFI x vin 180 hp 96-?
2000 a diffrent 4.3 ? on hp-tq
look for the 8th vin number to tell what motor
they were going to have a 6 4.3 260hp-275tq
but now its just a replacement crate motor

No not really the 94 s10ss gets at least 15.2 and the r/t gets high 14 low 15 and that a 4.3 vs 5.9 so you have to give the 4.3 some respect

hey dodge owners i got a 2000 vortec 4.3 that stock ran 16.7 bone stock in 1/4 mile the modded to a 16 flat in 1/4 mile is any dodges can handel that. i ran a short bed short cab hemi he rean a 17.25 hahahahahaha total truth time slips to prove it

best my little V6 could get was a 13.52
