I have a 2000 dakota with the 3.9 engine. Now, I have been looking at exhaust, but I am not sure what type and brand to get. I heard from somewhere that certain exhaust systems make the note sound more like an annoying buzz on the V6. What do you guys think is the best for horsepower and sound? If you can, could you list the price, also?
Oh, and I was also wondering if my trailering package would limit my choice for exhaust. Thanks.

many of us on here realize that for the 3.9 unless you are going for looks simply replacing the muffler will do the job. I use a Dynomax super turbo that is really quiet execpt when you hammer it, and others use their own choice of models, do an internet search at www.google.com for the brand names you are interested in, Dynomax,flowmaster, Magnaflow, even Midas sells a perfermance line, so does Edelbrock, some of the sites have sound files that will give you some idea of the sound output of their different models.

I've had both flowmaster and dynomax. If you want loud go with flowmaster, if you just want louder than stock but quiet at freeway speed get the dynomax super turbo. Jegs has them, summit too. They dynomax I got at jegs was $45. You don't need to spend alot for a good muffler.
