i got a 1998 2wd i took the motor out to fix something.. and now its in, but my tranny isn't shifting, its got no power....its like if it stuck on 3rd or 4th gear

sounds like some bad connections pinched or
damaged wires
Check them out the 98 trans has computer controled
presure and O/D, lockup all electronicly controled

i seem to not be able to find the infected wires..
but i don't know witch wires could be causing this problem...do they run from the computer? but, i did find a little dent in my tranny pan, i must of did it while using a flore jack to keep my tranny up-hi while the motor was out.. could that be it? the dent is not on the vanes.
the wires that you are thinking of are they electronic wires or just the fat one with presure?????

Had this problem recently with my 98 2WD - the dealer replaced one of the transmission sensors which was either fouled or burned out.
