Subject: bad temp sensor IP: Logged
Message: my temp sensor is way off, it will only move about 1/4 inch when it is at opperating temp. i put a 190 t stat, and replaced the sensor twice(accidentally broke the first one in the manifold) and the gague always reads the same, it will read higher when i over heat, which has happened. can anyone help out? Message: 180 will read about 1/4
195 will read 1/2
the sending unit is under the alternator 1 wire
the one under the A/C is engine temp sensor 2 wires
I hope you did not use any sealer or teflon tape
on the sensor it will not work right.
Brass needs no sealer or tape and that sender needs
a good ground

Message: You can check the guage with key on
wire to ground full guage sweep
unplug will not move at all

Message: i did the ground test a while ago and it went all the way when grounded out, and no i didnt use any teflon tape on the sensor. so that is just how far the gague goes? Thanks, Steve
