Message: I recenlty bought a 2000 Dakota sport with the 3.9 liter V6. Now, I am looking to upgrade the engine for extra horsepower and MPG. Unfortunately, I am new at this, so I don't know much. What do you think would be the least expensive yet most effective upgrades to start out with? Any help would be appreciated.
P.S. Because I am new, I would like it if you would explain in relatively simple terms how to install the parts. Thanks.

Message: i would suggest just starting out simple, just get some simple stuff like a chip or a performance coil. check out truckperformance.com or hughesengines.com or any other good sites like that and get the things that you know how to install. Steve

Message: Harland Sharp roller rockers, best of both worlds for mpg and performance about $300 through southeastrt.com. An MSD6A and blaster coil is another idea. About $260 for both.
