Subject: Poor Traction IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 Dakota with the 3.9 V6. It is a 2 WD automatic Trans. I have a set of Goodyear Wrangler ST's on it (original Tires) with 24000 miles on them.
I just purchased this truck a month ago and have noticed that it has very poor traction. It is very easy to bark the tires on dry pavement stopping has not been a problem on dry pavement but on wet pavement I have to start applying brakes much earlier to prevent skidding. I have check the tire pressure and they are properly inflated.
I traded an 89 Dakota for this one and never had that problem with it.
Any ideas?

i have had goood luck with the wrangler rt/s tires. i had them on my 98 2wd rc v6 auto. but now that i have a 4x4, i will get more agressive tires (wrangler at/s maybe)

Message: Many tires begin to behave very differently after 25,000 miles or so. The Firestone Firehawk does this. I would guess that your Goodyear tires are worn and that's the problem.
I run a set of Bridgestone Dueller AT's on my 4x4. I really like them, except that they are a little soft.

Message: I have Wrangler RT/S's on my truck, and at first I had three flats and two were unrepairable because something was in the sidewall. But since then (that was about 6 months ago) I have not any problems, so go figure.

Message: I simply made a comment. I came to this site because is seemed to have a few adults on here. Guess I was mistaken. Sorry I broke into your fantasy world. Only one remark in defense. I'm definitely no bitch, but you just proved yourself a punk.
