Subject: Air Conditioning/Fuse Poblem IP: Logged
Message: Have a 93 Dodge Dakota V6. Turned on the A/C and the "brake" light on the instrument panel came on and no blower/AC. Put it in reverse and the "brake" light came on and no reverse lights (running lights, brake lights and turn signals working fine). All fuses under the dash were good. Found one blown under the hood in "the box", replaced it and all was good.... well for about 1 1/2 days. Same fuse blown and of course same problem, maybe a bad fuse???.... no such luck 2nd one has blown too. Oh yeah, brake light goes out when turning the fan/AC off and when not in reverse. Any ideas out there for a lady in distress, because it sure is hot this time of year in NC. Thanks in advance, all assistance appreciated.

Message: Could be a few things
water in a plug connector shorting it out, find
all the plugs related to this disconect them and
spray with contact cleaner (radio shack)
Now fill the connector with dielectric grease and
plug them bak togather (autozone $.69 a tube)
It could also be a bad ground and feeding back
through another path and taking the fuse out with it.
Check and clean any grounds you can find
Could also be some damaged wires somewhere visualy
look for a pinched or cut in the wire harnass
Without having the truck here to check things with
an volt ohm meter I am just guessing but take a
look at these things and see if you can find any
thing.
The A/C clutch may also be shorting out

Message: Thanks for the info. Problem solved!!! Just in case anyone else out there should happen to run up on the same problem, my solution was replacing the AC/Heater Blower Motor. $135 (Motor $32 at AutoZone and Labor $100) Too bad I couldn't do the labor myself, haha. Glad to be cooling again!
