well for my 21st B-Dya my dad will buy me whatever i want for my truck, depending on the price, or he will go half in half with me on it. I want a Volant cold air intake, althought its kinda pricey, i know the airraid one is only like $165, but it anly replaces the factory airbox. i want one that replaces the whole factory system. anyone know what the prices are on them are, i cant really find one by K&N, anyways i just wnat some input from yall, thanks later!

Just make your own and have him get you something else for your truck... you can make your own for pretty cheap. Remove your current intake system (airbox and tubing). Run some tubing down to the front of the truck where it's pulling in cooler air. Remove the rubber flap beside the radiator to bring in more cooler air.

you can go to a muffler shop and have them custom bend a piece for you. then, just buy a filter and a couple of strong clamps and you'll be set. cost---around 50 bux or so, depending on cost of filter.

Here is the K&N number for a drop in 33-2175 $44.95
Doing a dropin and putting a fastman on would
give you more gains than just a cold air system
Fastman 46mm $250
15 to 18 HP gain at the rear wheels and 1 to 2 mpg
gain from the body and better filter
Here is the # for a complete system listed for the
V8 but with very little mod to mounting will fit
right on your 3.9 57-1517-1 $269.95 at summitracing.com
The cold air will help performance some but mostly
off idle throttle response and gas mileage maybe

so if i do a fastman 46mm, and a cold airintake and a tb spacer, will i be able to tell a diffrence? (im sure i will) i want to put everything on all at once, once i get everything. so whats the diffrence between the factory tb and the fastman tb? thanks guys! later

a tb spacer is a waste of money. They do nothing for a 3.9 with port injection save your money for a mod that will actualy do something like a msd ignition or black magic fan.

I tried the tb spacer i don't think that it did anything. I'll sell it cheap If you wanna try it.( 25$ ) you'll need 2 tb gaskets. If you don't want to make a cold air intake search online I got a nice no-name for 100$ new including shipping. they all work on the same idea.

i have a question, i have talked to some people on here and they said they have had better gains by moding thier stock air box by removing the air inlet horn and making the hole where it was larger and putting a k&n drop filter in the box rather than buying the whole intake sytem from k&n because of the fact that they get cooler air cause they box is sheilding it from thr heat coming off the exhaust manifold is their any truth to this and also would a volant intake sytem work the same or better than moding ur air box thanks
