 Subject: I think it's Drowning

When I accelerate with my 98 Dakota it 3.9L sounds like it's drowning, Any ideas?.. this is just durring normal driving.

also there is this ticking/nocking noise at the higher revs (around the 3 mark)anyone else got this or know how to cure it?
