i put ams oil into my truck, and wow its made a difference (at least it seems like it) or maybe it is physological???
it seems like it has much more pickup and runs better, but maybe its just in my head.
but i am glad i have amsoil its made a diff (IMO)
what ya think?

it made a pretty big difference in my 3.9L it ran quieter (valve train) and seemed a little bit smoother... what kind of filter are you running? i used the napa gold filter with my amsoil...
as soon as i'm due for my oil change, i'm putting amsoil in my 4.7L!! the dealer has castroil gtx (yuk) in it!! and i didnt even look at the oil filter (i hope its not a fram, i wont wait for my oil change to change that "thing" out LOL) its probably a mopar filter...

Its in every thing I own and also use there grease
with moly
Amsoil the first in synthetics, invented by a
fighter pilot who liked to return with his plane
running and the motor in 1 peice

I have been ordering direct and shipments arive in
3 days But I also live in wisconsin amsoil is in
superior wisconsin
Seris 2000 or I use the orig turbo 10w30 and there
SDF42 filter change every 6 months or 6000 which
works out to once a year for me about 10,000 per
year I drive my Dak
You can go longer than 6000 but I do lots of short
trips so I change more often
Filter is rated at 12.5k oil upto 25k on the turbo
oil.
Stay away from the XL7500 it is not there true syn
and was made for quick oil change places for those
who want to try Amsoil
Switching to all synthetics, trans & rear end)s
helps performance and gas mileage by reducing
friction which reduces heat and makes things last
longer

Just switched to Amsoil on Wednesday with an oil change. See how it works out.
It was about $9.00/quart, and that is in Canadian Dollars, so I think it worked out to be cheaper than what the catalog says.
I think the catalog advertises $9.60, or something close, so by the time you do the US/Can dollar conversion and pay for shipping, I think it worked out pretty good for me!
Leaving for a 1600 km trip (1000 miles for all my US friends!) this afternoon, so it should get a good run through the engine!
I'm going to change it at 3000 miles just to get some of the crap that I hope it cleans up out of the engine.

J-Man don't worry about cleaning out the junk, because it will indeed get the inside of that motor looking spotless ; )) You would be surprised just how much sludge will build up in a motor even using good high quality dino oils and changing it every 3000 miles... I can remember when I first switched to synthetics in my truck which was Mobil 0-30 "now use Amsoil 0-30 with dual bypass" and the one thing I remember the most was how dark it got after just the first 200 miles... I think I did a 1500 mile oil change that go around...
After that and all the advantages of the syns I've switched to using it in everything from tillers, pressure washers, my 25hp riding mower, and even my chainsaws and weedeaters... AND of course the dual bypass system on the ol' dakota :))

FYI --- Amsoil sales volume (oils, gear lubes, and ATF) has almost doubled in the last three years. Our manufacturing facility is increasing the base stock storage capacity from 1 million gallons to 1.6 million gallons (a 60% increase), and two new 50,000 gallon blending tanks are being installed.
Recently, two large and very well-known chain stores wanted to carry AMSOIL and were turned down. One of these wanted to place an initial stocking order in the millions of dollars. Amsoil would not enter into an agreement that would work against its Independent Amsoil Dealer Network.
Any claims that AMSOIL makes are fully backed. If you notice, every synthetic oil ever talked about is compared to Amsoil. Amsoil is the benchmark.

Amsoil is available in some stores -- mostly High Performance Speciality Shops and Speciality Retailers -- stores that lean more towards quality (for building performance and race engines, or a store owner that appreciates superior products) than to a "price point" retail store (i.e. Walmart, etc.).

Most of the Speciality Retailers are only carrying limited Amsoil products and I believe only in the quart sizes. They do not carry Amsoil Filters, ATF, Greases, Specialty Oils, Gear Lubes, or Truck Care Products. Here is the rub with the Speciality Retailers ...
The Speciality Retailers are doing what we call High Grading or High Ending... selling only Amsoil's best and fastest movers in a retail outlet ... and leaving the rest of the product line to dealers who have put a lot of time, effort and money into understanding and educating themselves on the complete Amsoil product line ... making Amsoil what it is today, a recognized Industry Leader, a recognized label and a superior product.

In the beginning, Amsoil, being a small speciality oil manufacturer, could never compete with the big guys for shelf space. Shelf space at the big stores is not free --- you have to pay for every inch of shelf frontage that you use. (I used to work in Management for an Import Company so I know this to be fact).
So, Amsoil started as a multi-level marketing company, also know as MLM, and once they decided upon this concept they could not change or 1000's of Independent Dealers would loose their business.
If you see Amsoil on the shelf, the retail store works in the same capacity as an Independent Amsoil Dealer. His discount is only 20% --- so a lot of retail stores would rather carry higher mark-up oils, etc.
