today is a bittersweet day for me. i am considering trading my current dak for an 00 cc 4.7L 4X4. they only want 13,900 for it (47K on thc clock) I think thats a pretty darn good price, I am just waiting for the dealer to contact me about my trade and financing stuff..... then i can take it for a TEST DRIVE!!! i am sooo happy!!! oh and its RED!!!!!

The 4.7l are very nice powerfull engines, but you need to keep in mind that they do have some engine gumming up problems due to the intake design... All I know on them is that they perform well for a while then the oil pickup will sludge over and the next thing you know your over heating and have no oil pressure... There is a way to elliminate this, but I'll be flamed for mentioning synthetics... Oh wait I allready did it... Hope you like it well and have no problems... Remember to give it a good long drive and look for any and all problems to point out, so they'll come down a little more on their price ; ))

Yeah i sure will, i will take it on the highway and through the city. and i will go over it with a fine tooth comb (i plan on sticking my finger way down into the oil filler tube to see what i can find)
I will run amsoil in any of my engines anyways, and i always change at 3 months or 3k miles. I hope the 4.7 is as powerful as everyone says it is!! I have also heard that its a rev-happy engine :-P and it supposedly gets 3.9L gas mileage. My hopes are that it will accelerate as good as my 3.9 RC, i hope its not wishful thinking...
i'm sooo excited now, i just hope everything goes through!!!!

My grandpa has a Durango with a 4.7 in it... I like it a lot. They sound great stock and I'm sure they'd sound even cooler with an aftermarket muffler. Acceleration is just as good as our 3.9's (actually I'm pretty sure it's a lot better, but I have proof to back it up). Hopefully you're able to get it. If ya do, I guess I'll see ya on the Members Only or General Forum:)

my truck left the V6 realm but i didnt... this place is more fun to hang out than in the V8 board. It's all a bunch of insults and rivalry over there.

I didnt mean it that way guys, I just meant truck wise :-) the v6 board is nice, its alot better than the other boards. I will allways post on the v6 board, I try and help as many people as I can.
(prizefytr) i will let you know if the deal is off, as soon as the dealer gives me the word. your intake will sell fast at that price!!

Yes FOG LOGHTS!!! I wish my current dak had fog lights.... i never have had a car or truck with fog lights. From what i hear, they’re nice. Especially in the snow!

i'm not sure if i can get a loan yet.... i'm on my way to the dealer in a little bit to see what i can hammer out. if i can get the loan, and the truck is sound its MINE :-P i'm gonna try and get as much outta my 3.9 as I can, all of those mods should be worth something (6-6500 I hope)
this dealer even has the service records for my dak, so they know its not a problem truck.. the only thing i'm taking from my 3.9 is the tails, my stereom, my air horn, and (duh) my personal effects.... I wanted to take my powerslots, but i dont have good rotors to put on in place if them...

wow its a night and day differecne!! the handling, and braking are superb. and dont even get me started on the accelleration :-P i cant bieleve that a bigger truck handles better and rides better than my rc 3.9
i guess i have to update my profile.....

I went from a 97 rc to my 98 cc and I was very pleased at the way it rode and handled. since both had the v-6 I experienced a noticeable decrease in acceleration but the extra cab space made up for it. You have a real sharp looking truck I hope it serves you well.

i figured it was the weight, but the longer wheelbase makes sense too. I have been finding out more about it since I got it home. for instance I didnt know it had 3:55 LSD (12 bolt= 9 1/4 right??) and it has a reese hitch setup on it.... its still weird for me to hear that v8 under the hood!! is runs like a raped ape though, I keep spining the tires taking off normally :-) also, it has the tire and handling group. that would explain why it feels so much better on corners. I kinda wish I had power windows locks and mirrors, but thats just more stuff to break!
my first mod will be my dynomax super turbo I ordered for my v6. its 2.5 inch in/out. i think the 4.7 has 2.5 inch exhaust. the factory exhaust already makes a little bit of a statement ;-)
