I've read a lot of you have 180 thermostats...I was wondering what exactly do they do, and is it hard to install?

Also, do I need to buy anything else to make it work?

180 thermo makes your engine run a little cooler...meaning it's running richer and creating a little more power. You may lose a lil mpg with it though. It's easy to change, yet quite difficult at the same time cuz it's down in a hard to reach hole. You'll need a gasket scraper to remove the old gasket (get a good one cuz reaching into that hole to scrape the gasket is very time consuming if it doesn't scrape very well) and you also may wanna use a lil RTV sealant on the new gasket..speaking of new gaskets, you'll need one of those too. lol

It's really a very easy job...just takes a while and can get quite frustrating.

Alright, thanks a lot...I went down to autozone and the guy looked at me like I was stupid and said "on the newer models it'll mess up your fuel mixture..blah blah blah" I said whatever, and bought it for 11 dollars anyway. It'll work on a 2002 3.9 4wd dak right?

And you say I'll need a new gasket, guess I'll make another trip to autozone and put it on tonight, or next weekend.

The 180 thermo will work on your engine provided it is the one
meant for your engine. Thermostat books usually list a range of
a couple thermos that will work in the same engine.
