Subject: Engine Swap...etc.... IP: Logged
Message: I just found a 94 318 complete with harness no TB...but I got that for my 94 dakota 3.9....I will be getting the flywheel from the 94 v8 and I may have to order a re-man pcm for my truck.....If I can find someone to do the engine swap for me for somewhat cheap down here I will be buying the motor next week. One Problem I am not too sure What all I will need to change out.
So my question is ... is there anything else I am missing for this swap? If anyone could list all I will need to do for this procedure and how hard will it be for the harness swap? thanx!

Message: You may need the 5.2/318 engine mounts
otherwise sounds as if you have other needs.
Just go easy with that 8 or you will need a
new tranny as well..

Message: I won't need the new mounts....but I probably wont take it that easy on the new motor...but I do have an aftermarket transmission cooler and will be putting a shift kit in it soon...so the tranny should hold up.

Message: Is it a ram or dak harness? I beleive they are slightly different.
The easiest thing is to just rewire your v6 harness to add the extra 2 injectors.
The 94 engine will bolt right in to your v6 mounts and use the v6 tranny just fine.

Message: on the 1994
pin 17 and 18 #7 and # 8 injectors is all you
need to add to the harnass
Why get a reman comp when you can buy a mopar
performance PCM from summit racing for around
$269 for the 318, 18hp and 25 foot pounds gain
at the wheels
Take the torque step out of the V8 body you have
the intake on the V8 has 50mm openings and the
50mm F&B fastman or factory with step removed
run very strong on the 318's
You will need to bolt the V6 flexplate on to the
318 if you want to use your automatic
When you instal the shift kit turn the presure
screw up 2 1/2 3 turns your 94 is a RH and you
will not get presure codes nor need the resistor
that comes in the kit.
Install the solid spacer in the 2-3 servo the one
for 1-2 is not needed
Center port
break on idle in gear 50 to 70 psi as soon as you
lightly hit the throttle should jump 100 psi +
Everything will bolt right in
