Message: hmmm well i already have cut into the wiring to install a home brew iat adjuster box
i have good reasons in disabling torque management...
the one reason thats really important to me though is for going after cattle i need it to not cut timing when i spin sideways or spin a 180 after a cow i would use a 4 wheeler but snows to deep and i would use a snowmobile but i dont want to freeze my butt off in the middle of the night just going after a cow whos calf i gotta pull in -15 degree weather not to mention ill reach speeds of 25 35 during the chase

Message: Why don't you talk to Marty at KRC and see if he
will remove the torque management from the comp.
Classified as off road cow chaser he may just do
it for ya he does have the equipment and ability
to do it.

Message: ok ill look into cause ill have some questions for him :)
yeah i do have an old beater for chasing cattle but u know how stuff goes... if its gonna break its gonna break when u need it and/or in the worst weather so i had no choice but to use my truck which ill admit was fun :) only downside was i didnt want to trash it thrashing through the brush just some things will never replace the old ford... good times...

Message: Ok i did it i just cut the white wire with green stripe...
and all i can say is... why didnt i do this before!!!
its great i dont have that bog off idle and i dont get that bog right when it shifts
The only complaint i have is my gear selector doesnt show what gear im in... but a switch will fix that
Well ill test it out some more before i post it on my website or here but so far no code :)

Message: hmmm well i tested it throughly today and it didnt do much except make the gear selector stop showing a selected gear
so the manual my friend got that out of must have been wrong , maybe he made it up (since he now wont let me see for myself or he looked at a v8) or... maybe i got an odd ball 2002 dakota
i will find the wire if their is one but if it fails ill see about the flash cause its driving me nuts to feel that let up of power during a shift
Sorry for the confusion but like i said if it will be released it will be definent not just a i guess it did something
yeah yeah i know im guilty of it already heh
Torque Management: what it does is it sees when to much torque is put out during a shift or from a stop, then after the signal is recieved it decides to pull timeing after looking at other variables
someone mentioned to me it had it in all 96-2002 dakotas (excludes manual trannys) i guess it maybe time to cut through the crap and find out...
for now i guess im the test dumby or... the dumby testing

Message: so first you said that it helped out and now youre saying it did nothing? i think you're mistaken, cuz ive only heard that torque management (or the TMR mod) only apply to the 4.7 and 5.7 hemi. either way, i wouldnt go cutting any wires into my pcm regardless.
you could get a custom pcm flash done by kenne bell or krcperformance, and i'd imagine they could help with shift points. also, why not buy a b&m shift kit, which is something that will physically improve your transmission?

Message: Im guilty it was just a coincidents it ran good after i cut the wire
i took a look at the electrical and found racerx was right... u wont find it or atleast i couldnt
But something good came from it i found a bunch of problems that need attention leaky axle and transfer case also possibly a gunked up or bad Governer Pressure Solenoid)
The 9 dreaded words!!!
Time to go to the dealer for warrenty work!!!
Racerx i must thank u for speaking up about the 4.7 and 5.7 being the only ones its known to work on or i wouldnt have looked at other areas or problems that may have been causing it

Message: no problem man, just relaying what ive heard. i really have no knowledge on the subject either except for hearing of few hemi and 4.7 guys that have done this mod.
in my opinion, jacking around with the pcm and the electrical sensors controllin the transmission just seems like bad news. you'd get much better results from a shift kit, and give the transmission better internals and better lifespan to boot
