Subject: OEM foglight ? for canadian dakotas IP: Logged
Message: I have a 97 Dakota slt and have the OEM foglight system. I noticed that there are different foglight relays for the canadian trucks and was trying to figure out the difference. My first thought was that maybe those locations didn't turn the foglights off when the high-beams were turned on. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not? I would love to be able to keep the foglights on with both low and high beams, but mine turns off when the highs go on, and only works with the lows. Thanks!

Message: Yes, in the US all factory foglights turn off with the high beams, the only way to do it is rewire the lights, or use aftermarket lights. I didn't know there was any differences between US trucks and Canadian trucks, thats a little strange.

Message: I don't know that there is a difference, but I saw that the Foglight relay for canadian trucks was a diffent space under the hood in the relay box. That is what made me think they might behave differently.

The difference on Canadian trucks is day-time running lights (basically parking lights) that are on all the time. It's the law up here.
