Message: I know that the 99's and down mostly have the AX-15 tranny's... The syncro's in mine are gone, but I still drive it as hard as ever :)) The 2000 and ups, unless I'm mistaking on some of the models, all have the NV3500 5 speeds in them... As far as the hurst shifters... Well the last time I looked into one they were like $200 and something just for the shifter and I just couldn't justify that for it, so I never ordered one... SO I don't know how good they perform over stock... Not much help I know, but maybe I was a little... I know some on here have used them, so maybe me getting the post bumped back up will let someone else see it... Sorry for the long posting...

Message: The hurst shifter makes the truck a blast to drive compared to the stock shifter. Cuts all the throws in half and gets rid of all the slop thats in the stock shifter. You almost forget you are shifting a truck tranny. After driving one with a hurst you will never be able to go back to stock.
Your 99 dak has a ax-15 5speed tranny. I have a hurst billet shifter with T handle for sale. It was in my 96 for probably 20k miles. It will work in your 99. I upgraded to a nv3500 to handle the extra power so i no longer need it.
A new one is 200 bucks and the t handle is another 30, so make me an offer.
Greg,
Where are you located? I have two working ax15's sitting here. If you want one to rebuild or even just swap out to avoid down time let me know.

Message: Will this shifter work in an 01' Dakota 3.9 V6? I see them on the net, but they are always listed under the V8 section.
Thanks!
