Subject: Engine Mods Finished IP: Logged
Message: This past week I have finally done all that I will to the engine of my Dak.
Homebrew Intake with K&N 6x9 Cone
MSD Ignition
SS Blaster Coil
8mm Taylor pro wires
Bosch Platinums
JBA Headers
Modified V8 TB (excellent mod)
Mobile 1 Synthetics
K&N Oil Filter
I think that is it. It runs smooth, Idle no longer goes up and down at stop lights, not a single engine light to date. I know there are numerous more mods that I can do but I am stoping there b/c these were not cheap and the only thing left for me to get this summer is this mofo lifted. This site has really helped me. I have gone into every one of these mods knowing mostly what to expect. I know I have had a few horses and lb/ft or torque gained but I don't know how much. I just know not it is time to get some ricers.

Message: The only thing that I can see that might actually cause some damage is the K&N oil filter... These are high flow filters only and do not filter all that well... That's really all I'm going to say on the matter and just hope that I don't start any arguments on it... I'm really happy that you like your engine...
Did you gap your plugs at .060", because that ignition burns very hot... And degree the plugs??? Glad to hear you like it and I hope everything is still performing flawlessly even after a few thousand or so miles ; ))

Message: The plugs are gapped to .050 because a few people I talked to that use the same set up for their drag cars only gap them to .045 and they recommended not to go any hight then .050. I pulled 2 plugs this weekend and they are looking good and tan. From what I have read Tan is what they should look like. As for the degree of the plug they are a little cooler then stock.

Message: stop pushing amsoil you flaming h0mosexual piece of sh!t.
The K&N gold filter is one of the best filtering oil filters on the market. K&N makes high flow air filters not oil filters. Why in the f ucking he!! would you want a high flow oil filter.
Get your head out of your ass and wipe all of the amsoil off of it.

Message: I used to use Mobil 1 all of the time... Infact I still use it in all of my equipment and everything along with their oil filters... The only amsoil setup I'm running is on my truck and that's because I've got a lot invested and just want the best put on it...
Oh and yota25, their are quite a few high flow oil filters out there... That's the reason why k&n and fram high flows are used on race cars and some dragsters... They're cheap and flow at very high rates to get the oil to the moving parts at the very high rpm's that these things run at... You should really do your homework if you want to pass this class now... LOL I just had to put that in there...
But in all seriousness have you ever done oil filter analysis on these things... Oh yeh that's where you take a very big pipe cutter, and cut the filtering material out of the housing to observe how your filter is doing and how your motor is wearing... You would be really disgusted if you only saw the rubber bands that holds some of the filtering materials together and some of the cardboard relief valves that they put in some of these things... Buy what you want... I was merely stating my opinion and experiances with some of these things... Take it as good advise or poor... See if I really care anymore ://

Get it straight! First of all, those aren't "mods," those are minor "add-ons." He did what any self-respecting 3.9 owner would do to wake up the engine. "Mods" are a lot more major than that, player. Why am I even bothering?!

Message: On the plugs
Plat tip .060
reg .050
with the MSD system
If your at .050 and running a nice tan color your
right where you want to be, If those are the bosch
plat plugs mopar lists for these motors they are
1 range cooler than stock so your fine there to
The racers you are talking with I will gurantee
are running reg plugs because the bigger chome
nickle tip will disapate heat just a little faster
than the plat tip will.
