Probable ' dirty ' or loose connection !
Did anything happen lately ?
Slight fender blender ? moving wires under
steering column ?
Rough offroading ?
As another mark says " I sure wouldn't want to drive around with THAT light ON " !!

removing the airbags doesnt get rid of the light.

i still have the light on my dash and i removed the following:

* fuses
* relays
* all wiring
* driver's side airbag
* passenger's side airbag
* passenger key on switch
* air bag controll module

light is still on.

The airbag light is probably caused by a defective clock spring inside the steering wheel. The clock spring allows the airbag to turn without twisting the wires.

If you do decide to remove the airbag, wear a ground strap. Or make one- wrap bare copper wire around your wrist and connect it to the frame of your truck. Static electricity can set the bag off. Always point it away from your face too!

With the air bag light on there is nothing to worry about unless you get in an accident and need an air bag. Air bags do not go off accidently. What the light is saying is that there is a problem with the air bag sys and it will no longer deploy untill the problem is fixed. Removing the air bag will not make the light go away only set another Air bag code.

If you dont care about the air bag and want the light off then pull out the bulb, not my first choice but it won't bug you any more.
